Question:
I've always envisioned getting married on the
beach. My mom is opposed to this, she says it will be too windy. What are the
pros and cons of a Cape Cod beach wedding versus an indoor wedding? -- Jamie
W., Hopkinton, MA
Answers:
From Connie Nye-Clark,
The Perfect Plan
The Pros
to having a beach wedding is utilization of a beautiful setting that provides a
gorgeous backdrop minimizing the need for elaborate decor and not to mention
the cost factor... usually requires minimal permitting and a modest fee for its
use. The cons are obviously finding a back up plan if the weather doesn't
cooperate and having to deal with the lack of privacy for your ceremony (unless
you find a private or less populated beach. Another con is yes it can be very
noisy with wind factors and beach goers. My advice if insistent on a beach
wedding is to do the shoulder season when it is less crowded and the parking
won't be such a challenge for your guests and to definitely have a good back up
location if the weather is bad.
From Tasha Bracken, The Simple Details
The
biggest con is weather you dont know what it will bring. You
definitely want a rain plan. A ceremony on the beach is beautiful,
but is usually pretty casual. A lot of times you cant even have chairs
and its hard for people to walk in their shoes definitely have a
basket for shoes on hand! If you are prepared for these things a beach ceremony
can be absolutely beautiful and unique!
Why do I need to hire a professional wedding planner?
If you are like most brides you have spent countless time, energy, and money into the planning of your upcoming wedding. Your wedding day is not just a financial investment but the beginning of a lifelong investment with the partner of your dreams.
It is a day that should be filled with lifelong memories of family and friends joining you as you embark on a great journey with that special someone.
It is not a day that you, your parents, future in- laws or friends should be stressing about the details coming together flawlessly. A professional wedding planner can attend to all the details, coordination of vendors, and promptly take care of any unforeseen circumstances that may arise. Hiring a professional to manage your Wedding Day can provide assurance to you so you are free to RELAX and enjoy the most important day of your life. It is an investment that is well worth it!
What would you do on your wedding day if...
- Your transportation doesn't show up
- Your DJ/Band doesn't show up
- You spill something on your wedding dress before pictures
- The button falls off your groom's tux
- You forget your flowers or worse, your rings in the limo (in all your excitement)
- The caterer breaks your toasting glasses
- Your best man forgets his speech at the hotel
- An uninvited/unwelcome guest crashes your wedding
Wedding Planners have seen all the above things occur. A professional wedding planner can troubleshoot these situations and many others to ensure that your wedding day be all you have dreamed it to be.
